Task: Replace Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO, mazut) by a Coal Water Slurry (CWS) from coal wastes.
Solution: Coal wastes in a form of filter cake are converted to CWS by a Wet Milling Machine. Then, CWS is artomized directly into a welz kiln by a pneumo-nozzle. CWS burn either autonomously or in parallel with HFO.
Results: HFO is replaced up to 90%.
Runs in Kazakhstan, TOO Kazzinc (Glencore) since 2020.
